The Lone ranger

Yet another film taken from an idea from the 60's and to be fair it has worked out very well.
It suffers somewhat from the "we have to set the scene" mentality so takes a while to get going but Jonny Depp and Armie Hammer do a sterling job as the lone ranger and tonto. Depp is especially good as Tonto.

Hammer starts out as a straight laced district attorny returning to his home town in the wild west where the railroad is being built. It involves a killer being taken there on the train who later escapes and mayhem ensues.
I enjoyed it and even at around 140 minutes did not seem over long. not quite as good as pirates of the Caribbean perhaps but a good romp none the less.
I will give it 8/10
