afer 22yrs in the Army, my son got a job as a teacher at a local secondary school.he said he could not believe the behaviour of the pupils.they were being "taught"by young men and women who had not the faintest idea of keeping order.at his first class the pupils totally ignored him and continued to play it up.my son is 6ft 3inches,played rugby for the army and
so was a parade ground drill instructor. he roared at them to "sit down and be quiet" which they did. after a few weeks of being stern but fair the kids were calling him sir and did what they were told .they need ex army men [or women] to sort these kids out.

My brother in law and one of his sons were both teachers. My brother in law was head of catholic school and took early retirement because he was sick to death of all the red tape and paperwork that would change almost weakly. My nephew taught in a school in bromley and he gave up as well due to the inability of being allowed to impose discipline on rowdy school kids.
when I was at school most of the teachers were ex forces and knew how to keep control. towards the end of my schooling we began to get student teachers coming in and they were totally unable to control anything. Kids will take advantage of any weakness in a teacher.
