[*]Chairman of governors at Elstow School, Bedford, gave it the go-ahead

[*]Families face £60 fine per parent per child for unauthorised absence

[*]School reminds parents on its website to book breaks 'only in holiday time'

Will he be getting a summons?? a fine ?? Will he F*** !!
Time Parents marched on these schools and showed the mini Fuhrers what to do with their rules. They are NOT our Lords and Masters contrary to their own opinions.

(Same goes for Councils and their Vari coloured Bins)

"He" is a she, Wyatt...but that apart, my sentiments exactly. I know this school, and it has an excellent reputation. One might reasonably have hoped that the head would have demonstrated the standard of leadership which it deserves.

Very well apart from the rain, Nicko. Did a lot of the usual culture stuff (Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall, Eyam, etc) and, being in the company of a geologist, spent copious amounts of time down the famous Peak District caverns looking at stalactites, stalacmites and sundry chunks of rock with unpronounceable names.

Stalactites hang down and so have to "hold on tight" while stalagmites grow upwards. Some of the latter in one of the caverns looked positively obscene!
