an interesting solution for those that really want to live next to a river. however out of reach of most people I would have thought.

I was born and grew up in Chelsea by the Thames (what's now called Chelsea Harbour). There used to be some quaint old houseboats there - it looked a lovely way to live. I expect they're long gone. Another place I loved was Eel Pie Island by Hampton Court. Little cabin type homes, really lovely. There's something peaceful about living next to the river.
