Turkey referendum: Erdogan dismisses criticism by monitors

Post  fatbob5 on Mon Apr 17, 2017 8:16 pm

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has rejected criticism by monitors who say the referendum campaign fell short of international standards.
"Know your place," he said, adding that he did not accept the comments.
The observers said Mr Erdogan had been favoured by an "unequal" campaign. In the referendum, voters gave sweeping new powers to the president.
The narrow vote was ruled valid by Turkey's electoral body, despite claims of irregularities by the opposition.
Late changes in ballot counting marred the vote and removed a key safeguard, the monitors added.
Mr Erdogan's push for an executive presidency succeeded with 51.4% voting for it........

he won the vote, but the more serious point is how big was the vote rigging.

My wife for instance did not find her voting form until saturday. for some reason it had been left on the stairs leading up to the roof, this area and pretty much the entire coastal regions do not vote for the AKP and did not vote for yes.

Now there might be a perfectly reasonable reason why the official voting forms would be left in an area where virtually no one goes, but for the life of me I cant think of one.

Other instances of voting irregularities have been shown where unstamped forms have been accepted as being in favour of leaving.

there is a twitter account that leaks inside information on the AKP party and it stated some time ago that there will be up to a couple of million extra ballots printed, it would seem that there may be some truth in that as well.
Stuff that comes from that account has been shown to be true many times over the last few years.
It would seem that account belongs to someone with intimate knowledge of the government and Bir Dakika Bey.

Now if the vote is shown to be not rigged then he won and everyone has to accept that.
However this is turkey and there are people that wont accept the result, and it may end in violence.

today Bir Dakika bey said the state of emergency will be extended for another 3 months and that allows him to do more or less what he wants to do anyway.
I expect the state of emergency will be extended again and again so he can arrest anyone who disagrees with him.
