Landing on the far side of the moon is a giant leap for China.

It's the first time the Chinese Space Agency has gone where the Americans, Russians and Europeans have yet to go - a genuine and impressive first. .................

Trump doesn't do science, he looks for a healthy return on his investments and keeps looking, it's part of the madness of our time, Clinton would have been much worse.

China will use this as an entry level success into space exploration, technically the USA is still around 15 years ahead of the rest of us and space travel is already being commercialised privately.

Perhaps the next Earth object visible from space will be Trumps wall.

Can anyone say what benefit landing on the far side of the Moon, and spending fuck knows amount of money [some of it ours] will it help the ordinary person ? Chinese, or any one else ?

the only technical feat in entails is having to be entirely self reliant when landing as it is out of range of earth except when it's accompanying orbiter is in position to relay info. Apart from that it is actually rocket science.

well as they use mainly stolen inventions that are proven the rest is only rocket science.
It's not like when the americans first landed man on the moon using computers with less computing power than in the average kids digital watch. where much of the actual rocket science was done by people with slide rules.

Oh you just know the chinks will be setting up some military bases up there.

They are building military islands in the middle of the ocean, you best be sure they are looking to be the first to militarise space
