It really gets my goat that these people will get away with not much more than a slap on the wrist whilst the owners get left with huge repair bills. Some will probably say, who cares it is only a bank, but we the tax payer are major shareholders in that bank so we are picking up the tab. Also it is not always banks that are the owners. Many hard working people also get affected by squatters and they have to pay a fortune to get them out of the property and repair it afterwards. the law needs to be changed so the person who has the deeds to the property can get these people evicted and charged immediately, not after long legal battles.
