UK green targets get even tougher... but renewable energy 'still won't keep lights on' Empty UK green targets get even tougher... but renewable energy 'still won't keep lights on'

Britain pledged yesterday to sign up
to some of the toughest green targets as critics claimed that even a
massive expansion of renewable energy would not be enough to keep the
country’s lights on.

Under
a climate deal announced in South Africa after days of negotiations,
world leaders agreed a ‘road map’ for all major countries to introduce
legally-binding targets to tackle global warming for the first time.

But
the world’s biggest polluters – including the U.S., China and India –
will only have to start cutting their greenhouse gases ‘from 2020’ and
it is unclear how stringent the targets will be.

the gist appears to be that we a going to cut before the big polluters and the lights will be going out.
As has been pointed out wind turbines are a bit like the three bears in goldilocks.

If its too windy they don't work
if its not windy enough they don't work
It has to be just right for them to work.

never mind if we all freeze to death, at least some third world country will get our cash redistributed there.

How right you are -- Britain are the only fools to be taken in by the treaty. We will honour our commitments but nobody else will. Waste of time and money if you ask me.

it does seem that countries around the world are waking up to this scam, and quite rightly so.

Another lie told by the loony left to revenue raise, nothing else.

They won't be happy until we're screwed to the floor and they have every last penny.
