Prometheus
I have been to see Prometheus today.
another good movie by Ridley Scott although not with quite the same suspense as Alien or action of Aliens but it certainly does answer one of the main questions left unanswered in Alien, Who was the space Jockey.
the premise is that a number of civilisations in man past who have no connection all have similar cave paintings showing the location of a star system. The Weyland Corporations funds an exihibition with an assorted crew and a couple of acheologists who's theory they are following. Charleze theron is the hard faced Bitch from the corporation. there is an android who seems to have an agenda and Guy Pearce is miscast as the aged head of the Weyland corporation who is on the verge of dying. Why they did not choose an old actor instead of burying Guy Pearce under lots of latex.
the film is quite exciting and the 3D is subtle, the tension builds to quite a good climax and it is left open for another sequel should they wish to go there. How the aliens comes about is sort of explained, but they are not a big part of the movie at all.
I would give it about 7.5 or 8 out of 10.
IF you like Sci Fi then it is worth a look.

Took my nipper to see it on Tuesday, a most excellent sci-fi film, the 3D and cinematography were excellent, and the special effects fantastic, especially the sequences showing star systems, the benoni babe was good as the ice queen, but I think David played by the fassbender chap was the star of the show.
A must see,,,agreed ratings 7.5 or 8 are ballpark!
yes the 3D was well done, none of that hurling things at the audience for no reason apart from showing how good 3D is.
Yep David was an interesting chap. I though Idris Elba was good as the captain as well.
You don't need to be an aliens fan or have seen the films to enjoy this one separately.
I agree the bit with the star charts was quite spectacular.
I am not sure how that chap in the opening sequence fitted into it all

I thought the opening sequence revealed his DNA dispersing into the water, most of it disintegrated, but a strand remained, thus giving human life on Earth...chariots of the gods etc?
that was earth was it, I thought it was the planet they went to. I also thought it must have been the chap who let the infection out that killed them all.
