What about the Celts and their woad being distinctly blue? Maybe they thought it was green? Although green would make more sense as camouflage, tests have been done with woad wearing people and they do appear to vanish into the woodland, a bit chilly just wearing woad though in Britain at almost any time must be what made them fearless fighters, get it over with and back to the fire for a warm.

Absolutely !! I still have my old woad in the cupboard for wearing on special occasions,
like manning Hadrians Wall on Bank Holidays !! ROFL

I'm afraid after using "wash n go" the hair went when I washed off the Woad, it can get a bit chilly on the Wall. ROFL
