In a statement announcing the purchase, Disney said it planned to release a new Star Wars film, episode seven, in 2015.

That will be followed by episodes eight and nine and then one new movie every two or three years, the company said.

The last Star Wars film was 2005's Revenge of the Sith, and Disney said it believed there was "substantial pent-up demand".

originally it was intended to be a 9 series franchise.
the original 3, the 3 prequels and 3 more 50 years or so later.
lets hope disney does not milk it and ruin the whole franchise.
there is a whole wealth of star wars books to draw on and the empire is a pretty well drawn place now.

Lucas said he would wait for the next technological break through to make 7-9, looks like the technology is still too far away,,,,holographic interactive,,,,,, perhaps?

well I can't see what can come next, except for glasses free 3D, or possible a screen that surrounds the audience. bubble vision yayyyyyyyy, but do people really want to watch what is going on away from the action.
interactive is fine if you are watching solo, how would that work in a full cinema
