Man pushes Brussels sprout up Snowdon with his nose in four days
It took four days and 22 sprouts for Stuart Kettell to push a brussel sprout up Mount Snowdon with his nose in a bid to raise money for charity.
Stuart Kettell, from the West Midlands, took four days to reach the 3,560ft (1,085m) summit.
The challenge saw him use 22 sprouts to get to the highest mountain in Wales. The 49-year-old trained for his charity mission by pushing a sprout around his garden with his nose. Mr Kettell said he selected a large sprout so it would not fall down a crevice in the rock. Mr Kettell of Balsall Common was left with no skin on his knees as he climbed up the mountain.
His aim was to collect at least £5,000 in sponsorship for Macmillan Cancer Support, but has so far raised £3,500 on his JustGiving page.
''People definitely think I'm mad, and I'm beginning to think it myself,'' he said.
Mr Kettell started the challenge on Wednesday, with a backpack containing camping gear and extra brussel sprouts.
He has been raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support for nine years. He has having previously done so by spending a week in a box, walking along every street in Coventry on stilts, and running in a giant hamster wheel.
Writing on his fundraising page he said: "I have seen first hand the amazing work Macmillan Cancer Support does, not only for the patient but their family and friends too, and on all of my challenges have heard nothing but praise for Macmillan's support during a difficult time, your cancer stories inspire me even more to carry on, and my challenges are going to get even more crazy."

He didn't use his nose, he had a plastic shield protecting it!

With a Jewish nose it would have been 2 1/2 days.

Absolutely, he was raising money for Macmillan, a wonderful charity and the one which I support most of all having, sadly, first hand experience of the support which they give not only to cancer sufferers but to their families.
One thing puzzles me though...where did he get his sprout from? They are most definitely a winter vegetable in this country and a frozen one would have dissolved into mush after the first hundred yards.
