Britain ordered to reduce its air pollution by the European Court of Justice and threatened with a £300million fine for not complying

So what is the air pollution like in the industrial areas of Germany and Italy for instance, could it be that the British cities have high pollution because there are so many flipping people crowded into them? We are comparable in people per square kilometer with Germany, and other Continental countries, how much bigger in land mass is Germany than the British Isles again?

Could it be because the UK Government hands over money like drunken sailors to any country except  their own.

I think reducing air pollution is a good thing and we should be legislating for it through our own national govt, not at the say so of the EU.



But this is going to be difficult to achieve in London and other cities while also increasing the number of busses and encouraging people to buy other diesel vehicles to travel about in.



Also, most of the time our air is blown into the country from the south/south west and bringing in the pollution that comes with it from France/Spain etc....

the more immigrants we have = more cars on the road, it's that simple

Of course it's that simple...but neither the Eurocrats nor the main UK political parties are prepared to do anything about it.

The more overcrowded we get, the worse the problem will become, and the more the EU will "fine" us for being unable to cope with the sheer stupidity of EU legislation which in theory would allow the entire population of Eastern and Southern Europe to move here at will.

I was wrong in the information I gave regarding England as having the same density of people per square kilometer, my info was out of date - for every German person there are two English persons, for every French person there will soon be four English people, per squre kilometer, why would any sane person want more people to come here and live in a crowded little island, surely you don't need to be racist, xenophobic or any other ist or phobe to appreciate that.

I think you're simply tinkering around the periphery M'lud, we've got to have a long hard look at ourselves now, western corporatism ie Haliburton and co will destroy us, we must confront them and rearranged the order of things, head on and now.

It is estimated that we can transit to a green future in 15 years or we can spend the rest of our lives in an increasingly volatile, precarious and anarchic state, only governments through the will of the people can achieve this, only one political party is capable of delivering this, the pressure on Wallace is mounting, in six months he could be the prime minister, much like you, he needs to stop phishing about on the periphery and start delivering the basic form of progressive taxation to achieve what is required!
