Mascagni Empty Mascagni

Normally, opera have more than a couple notable pieces within them, Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana only has two ....but what a two they are.

First, the Easter Hymn.

Then the wonderful intermezzo.

And like most Italian operas it is full of passion, sandal, lust, romance and ends up in a heap of tragedy.
