Prosecutors say they will "carefully consider" the file of evidence passed on by South Yorkshire Police. A file of evidence relating to allegations of historical sex abuse by Sir Cliff Richard has been passed to prosecutors.
The file was handed to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) by South Yorkshire Police who have been investigating the 75-year-old entertainer. The CPS said it will "carefully consider" whether to bring charges or not. "We have received a full file of evidence from South Yorkshire Police," a CPS spokesman said.
