top gear

ok just downloaded top gear and watched as far as evans introducing matt le blanc and I have to say I already want to punch evans.
I will endeavour to watch the whole thing tomorrow.

just waded through it and I agree there is little to recommend it. Evans is a dreadful host and has absolutely no charisma. There is little chemistry between him and Matt Leblanc, of course that may develop over time.
The they appear to be trying to be clarkson, hammond and MAy is disconcerting. It seems the scripts have been cobbled together by someone who watches Top Gear but has little writing ability.
The editing of the cars is still good, but the wholoe thing lacks the pazazz and gloss of the Punchy,Hamster and Slow show. When the grand tour appears on amazon and on torrent sites the next day we will all be able to see how it should be done.

its been said before but top gear was just another way of saying "the Clarkson,May and Hammond show" without them there is no top gear. didnt even bother watching it since the only reason i would ever watch it was for Clarkson, May and Hammond pissing around

you are right, the show was them. before they became the presenters it was a niche motoring show, they made it what it was and they will no doubt continue over on amazon with the grand tour, or top gear two as some suspect it means.
So far evans and le blanc are trying to play at clarkson, hammond and may and failing miserably. It seems that all the bad press they got in the run up was justified.
You never got the feeling that CHM were reading from an autocue, you do with these two

Well it's seems BBC lost control of top gear and the three amigos made it their own,you can't script getting chased out if Argentina by a lynch mob

And I  can't imagine BBC being happy with anything they don't control with an iron fist, perhaps they are thinking of regaining control by putting in some puppets 

 That's might be why it's gone from three loose cannons to a pair of yes men

another major problem is the studio sound. I know its made in a hanger but it sounds like it is made in a echo chamber. In this day and age there is no excuse for such appalling sound.

T.G = fail.  Trying to be something its not. Haven't seen it, don't want to but glad its a flop so far.  Bit like the EU once we leave.
