However later on he caught sight of Judge Rinder, and winked at the camera: 'Hang on let me say hello to this fellow, he's fantastic.'

Approaching the TV judge, Peter proceeded to give him a hug, but jolted away when Rinder reciprocated the affection.

In his usual humour, the Lancashire native said to the cameras: 'Steady! Watch it my lad!' before pointing to his rear and joking: 'This case is firmly closed!'
