She wasn't asked to drink it - just put it past the till, if she feels she can't do that she shouldn't be on the tills. What about a tub of brandy sauce etc. This is not a Muslim country we shouldn't need to check which till we are able to use depending on what legitimate items we have in our basket or trolley.

For a counter or till assistant to refuse on personal and religious grounds to serve a paying customer goods which are openly and legally sold by the shop should be ground for instant dismissal.
