OUR NHS Or Is It?

My friend hand a accidental severe knife cut on hand, went to Coventry University Hospital Emergency Dept at 3.30pm today, still there now waiting for sutures.
When seen by triage twas a 2 hour wait, NOW it is a 5 hour wait.

FGS, what is happening to OUR NH?

Underfunded, understaffed, too few A & E's, too many people attend there when there's no need, most GP's don't do minor injuries anymore they send you off with a letter to A & E. People can't get appointments so they go to A & E.  Lack of vocation and staying power these days. Maybe all surgeries should have a minor injuries unit. Sadly there's plenty of money in this country but a few have a strangle hold on it. I was waiting in our local A & E a few weeks back only for 4 hours though, there were elderly people there before us that were still there when we left. A few came in withseemingly minor problems got seen quickly, one had a broken finger and just went home with it lashed to the next finger, a woman came in who had fallen onto one knee and cut it, she could walk so I doubt anything was broken, she was seen after about ten minutes and left with a dressing, you could do that yourself, someone else with a cut finger, I've done worse with my new ceramic kitchen knives.

Total time at Casualty 6 hours.

The NHS staff all over the spectrum have their arse in their hands, disgruntled, feeling of worthlessness.

So many of them are NOT coherent when speaking to you.

Nurses talk to other nurses when they are dealing with you, gets my goat that does.

They have been STUNG BIGTIME with extortionate car parking charges at Coventry.

Patient/visitor parking here is horrendous.

Some years back I was ambulanced into this hospital,my wife followed in her car, car park charge was £13 something.

Young girls used to automatically wanna be a nurse, not now.
