there is absolutely no need nor justification imo of these training days. any update information they need, changes to curriculum or any other matter can be given via email etc. OR the can do it on the last day of the holidays before the kids come back.

regardless, i dont disagree with the fines. if you were consistently late for work it would not be acceptable and you would lose your job.

make sure you get yer brats there on time and there won't be a problem

I ve noticed my local Doctors surgery closes for a half day each Month for "surgery training" what the hell is that?

there is no reason to be consistently late for school, work or any meeting.
If you bus does not arrive in time, get an earlier one. If you are driving and hit traffic regularly , leave earlier.
In my day I used to travel across town and get to school on time, even when I used to walk the 4 miles to save the bus fare to spend on extra goodies.

I can honestly say I have never been late for an appointment in my life, indeed, I usually turn up too early and have to sit there waiting.
