yes it has been most amusing watching the media do an entire 180 over this after months of telling him to make peace not sabre rattle the narrative has now switched to telling he he should never have talked to kim in the first place.
No president since the 50's has been able to move the north korea issue forward. Trump has done so in 18 months.
Now only time will tell where this will go, but what do the media expect a few hours of talks to achieve. a comprehensive start2 treaty?
He has got the hostages home. HE has got kim to commit to the denuclearisation of the korean peninsula and he has saved america hundreds of millions of dollars a year by not having to conduct war games there.
Now if this also leads to a final ending of the korean war then that is another feather in his cap.
The Kims are not a nice family, but it is better to talk to them now and find a peaceful resolution than having NK drop a nuke on the west coast of america killing millions. But listening to the illiberal left and much of the media, that appears to be the option they prefer rather than give trump a shred of credit.

For the last ten years or so NK has been testing missiles and the consequences have been a bit of a joke.
Then finally there technology has reached a point where it starts to become a real threat. Trump then posts a few tweets effectively saying ' My Knobs bigger than your Knob'  and then NK suddenly says ' You win, we will start to dismantle our test sites '

if you think he came to the table just because of tweets you are as foolish as the MSM. There are always back channels, however he told him in no uncertain terms what would happen if he continued on that course.
Everyone who is now criticising trump for talking was criticising him for not talking a few months back.

At least he got Kim to the table, witch is more than any other President has managed since the Korean War.    How it works out in the future remains to be seen .
