How pathetic. Why not just do away with them and be done with it. Ffs, we don't need plastic bags to survive, stop plastic pollution and concentrate on serious issues. Is what I think

Why not go back to brown paper bags with the string handles if we must have bags supplied in shops, we managed with them for years. I think paper bags are still used in the USA grocery stores etc.

I agree flix, much better for the environment, or boxes. I remember picking out a packaging box to put the shopping in in Waitrose (when the weeks shopping came to about £5). But people should be expected to deal with it themselves because we use way too much plastic and the cons outweigh the pros. Including all plastic packing in general.
This can be solved but seems the gov don't actually deal with anything. This has been an issue for years now and all they've done is charge 5p then after how much freaking money and meetings, put it up to 10p. They really haven't got a clue the thick stupid moans.

I have a real problem with packaging these days, I can't open it without getting a knife or scissors involved. Even the packaging that has a small tag to pull, try as I might nothing happens most of the time, at other times it works all of a sudden and the contents fall out on the kitchen counter or worse the floor. I bought a new door lock the other day, I thought I'd need a circular saw to get it out, eventually I managed to get a knife into the plastic which is usually welded together front and back or seems to be, without stabbing myself got access to the lock and promptly cut my finger on the now razor like plastic edge. Bottle and jar tops are another hate, put on by machines of course and need to be opened by a mere human.

How do they get away with it? They should put a hazard warning that the packaging may cut a major artery.

Considering the obvious rubbish printed on most stuff that's not a bad idea.
Coffee cups with hot liquid - I should hope so.
Plastic encased foods remove packaging before cooking.
Any item that you can't eat or drink - with a warning of do not ingest - if you are old enough to read and understand why would you?
