it is rather annoying, but as they were fighting the night king it is hard to justify doing it at midday.

I absolutely agree, Nicko. Constantly subdued lighting and actors mumbling and whispering half their lines...directors seem to consider it "artistic" but like you, I find it infuriating and just switch off.

After all the comments i'd heard about "Game of Thrones" I decided to have a look at it. I know there were no Electric lights then , but most of the time I thought, get some bigger Candles !

well I've run my copy through adobe premiere to lighten it up a bit and will be watching again later

it is pretty dark, best watched at night with the lights out.
the makers also say it could be to do with the streaming services compressing it too much
