because they were death traps before the virus happened. the last one I had a couple of months back was vile. The decent chinese takeway in bath has closed, long before corona. I had sushi the other day. Will that count

if you choose, it was still covered up. A friend of mine in america was really ill before christmas and now she thinks she may have had it because the symptoms fit rather too closely. the chinese could have contained this, they chose to cover it up until it couldn't be covered up any more.

I seem to remember years ago there was a hong kong flu as well.
It's usually named after the place it originates. so chinese or wuhan flu would both be accurate.

The spanish might take issue with spanish flu of course as patient zero was actually from the mid west of america and brought it to europe during the first world war after contracting it from either ducks or chickens

success, everyone agrees that normal activities is to be outlawed and the narrative is never to be questioned 

then you have to make sure that large gatherings are stopped, its easier to control small groups than large ones. its now illegal to gathering in groups larger than four people.

then you encourage shortages of various supplies . which we have seen over the last couple of weeks with idiots panic buying everying in sight, panic buying truly brings out the very worst in human nature and now not only have you got people in terror you have panic, greed and selfishness and desperation as well. people have literally been begging the govt to turn the uk into a police state which is what we are now.

the uk is now under curfew and house arrest, anyone who breaks these new rules face arrest and censure,it is possible that if this fails to keep things locked down because of manpower issues, the military will be drafted in to take charge and that means martial law.

the south african regime was regarded as a police state by some because they imposed the same conditions on blacks in south africa, other regimes in history that have done the same thing were all regarded as authotarian police states and dictatorships.

the one thing about dictatorships is that they arent known for willing giving back powers and freedoms to the people they took them from, keep things  in place long enough and they become the new normal.

the society we left behind last night will not be the society we become if and when the lockdown is lifted.

of course its entirely possible that once this virus is under control, boris will begin to lift restrictions and life will return to some kind of normal, but what is that normal going to look like?? how many many of these new temporary emergency powers are hgoing to be on the books in 10 years time?? how many people in the future are going to be arrested and end in trouble because of laws that were only ever supposed to be used for this situation??
