wind turbines to not work in extreme heat or cold or when too windy or not windy enough. they are also not very green on the production side and much of the rare earths required for construction are incredibly dirty to produce and leave whole eco systems destroyed. The green aprt is a myth, but tolerated because the dirty part happens in someone elses back yard.

BBC News traced the image back to a 2016 report published by Swedish company Alpine Helicopter, demonstrating "airborne de-icing solutions" for wind turbines.

did I say it was from texas. It is there to illustrate the point. they dont work in cold weather. they dont work in hot weather either, nor when it is too windy, or for that matter when it is not windy enough. They are the goldilocks of power generation, it has to be just right.fatbob5 wrote:TThe imageĀ is from Sweden, not Texas

Now about the concrete and rare earths that go into their construction, just how green are they.

I have no idea how much energy is used constructing and maintaining a wind turbine compared to the amount it generates.Flap Zappa wrote:

It's a total distraction in relation to the story.
You ever thought of working with Fox News?
