A Rising thunder Empty A Rising thunder

Just started A rising Thunder. the latest in the Honor Harrington series by David Weber. It's been quite a wait for this one and I am one chapter in so far and it looks like it may be another cracker.
Should you enjoy a good bit of Sci Fi then I can heartily recommend this series which is up to about 13 now. the first few and lots of others are available free at www.baenebooks.com. Most formats are catered for.
Be careful though, like drug dealers the first few are free then when you are hooked they cost a few bucks each.

there has been talk for some time of a movie or TV series of these books and I think Uma Thurman would make an excellent horor Harrington. she has the quirky looks and the stature to pull it off. I do hope they do make something eventually. There is a lot of scope for a series of the scale of babylon 5 or the later star trek series

I haven't I am afraid although I often used to see them in the second hand book stall I used to frequent.
However at that time I was reading mainly star trek next gen books. I ended up with almost 200 of them.
Also Larry Niven, Isaac Asimov,Terry Pratchett Piers Anthony were also popular and I have have quite a few of theirs. However for the last couple of years I have been almost exclusively reading Ebooks and David Weber has been the mainstay of that although Eric Flint has also created a good series in the 1632 Grantville books.
Weber has also created a few good series as well. I just read the first 4 of the Starfire series since finishing the last of the 1632 series and waiting for Rising thunder to come out.
Rising thunder by the way is turning out to be a cracking read.

well just finished rising thunder and it was building up nicely, however David Weber has decided to split it into two books and now I have to wait until november to find out what happens.
It was most annoying as it just stopped.
