I think I read somewhere the most painful one of all comes from a centipede found in some jungle or other that is so painful, although its bite will not kill you, you wish it would.

Very nasty! I have been stung by a scorpion (green) , just a little swelling, no problem. Seen other people's arms or whatever really swell up though but no one died.
