A Spanish lady in her, shall we say late middle age, who sang two of my favourite pieces - the beautiful and haunting Pie Jesus from Lloyd Webber's " Requiem" and the absolutely stunning Senza Mamma from Puccinini's opera "Suor Angelica" - in a rather swish restaurant in Valencia.

I can't remember her name, but I was told she had never made a recording and was a singing teacher and friend of the proprietor; a great shame because she had one of the finest voices I have ever heard.

Not music that will be everyone's cup of tea, I know, but both pieces can move me to tears. They are absolutely gorgeous.

Thanks, Costa. That's a beautiful version of Senza Mamma that I hadn't come across before; in fact I have never heard of Catherine Malfitano. I'll look out for more of her stuff.

That song means such a lot to me as it reminds me of the times my family spent in Sueca near Valencia. They were among of the happiest in my life.

You're most welcome and I'm glad you liked it. Smile
