Hey credit due where its due....always amazed at singers, painters, sculptors etc....knowing that I can't (unless you count an unfortunate session with paint by numbers) makes me appreciate stuff more.
Are you still doing gigs eds or is that on the back burner due to jazzy j?

Oh we kind of gave it all up around the time our son was about 2. My dad died and Mark's mum died within months of eachother and it just all got on top of us. The music died too.Cass wrote:

We both still miss it but music and the music scene has changed so much now I wouldn't want to be involved in it anymore. Tbh Cass, I think music isn't what it used to be....a song isn't about a 'story' anymore, lyrics aren't what they were.

I hear ya....I barely listen to new stuff...its all pretty much manufactured reality show pop....yuck....although I am looking to buy David bowie's new Cd....what I have heard so far is very good.
I will admit that I was not a fan of lady gags to begin with....I suppose all the wierdness that went with her put me off but actually she is growing on me...she does actually tell a story....pink is another "new" favourite....some friends went to see her show in Vegas (yeah baby) and said it was amazing.

To be honest Eddie, Music never goes away but is forever changing and reinventing itself. You have so much to choose from and I love just about all types apart from Jazz, but love classical to euphoric to soul, to rock etc. Many times we see Music as i say reinvent itself and this happens with lyrics also, I have seen some great songs created over the last decade which have amasing lyrics.
I suppose it all boils down to what each individual likes.

Lady gaga bores me now tbh, I liked her stuff but now she's gone the way Madonna and it;s all about the shock value zzzzzzzzzzzzz
Love Pink! She's a real talent and a great vocalist.
Nicho, to that! Why eddie? is that your name??
Didge, I can't agree about pop, sorry, i think it's mostly shite nowadays. I love jazz too :-)
Re: Support my music

Yeah but i try and look past the wierdness...Madonna bores me senseless...although I did laugh when she nearly fell on her butt during last year's superbowl halftime show...give it up woman.eddie wrote:

Nice songs Eddie, not my kind of music, but not bad for that genre, i prefer old styles of music myself, strange cos i'm not that old, just turned 50, i like music that is simple and yet difficult to perform, i like the skill of the singer who can really own a song and knock me out with the wonderment of their voice with no hiding behind a band or soundtrack like modern acts, here's an example, listen to the clarity of this voice!!
But i like your songs hun, reckon you should use your voice more if you want to stand out,....just saying xx.
Doreen this song above will test your HI Fi to the limit!

Re: Support my music
same here...i grew up on it and all of the 60s stuff too....I did have an original copy of the beatles first album until my mother, in what was obviously a fit of insanity, threw it out...it was hers in the first place!nicho216 wrote:cass,my daughter knows all the words to the old records, when her friends ask how she knows all the words she says my dad played them all the time.
I enjoy most stuff apart from real heavy duty country and western, house, and new pop stuff.
Currently in my car cd player is Johhny Cash The Greatest: The number ones and Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen since I am going to my last symphony concert next week and they are playing Die Walkure (The Valkyrie).

Mike, I like all sorts of music and vocalists, love Neil Diamond, Elaine Page, reggae artists you've probably never heard of and rock stuff - across the board.
I don't sing anymore and tbh, I loved doing it live as I am a born performer. Never sung flat either and never needed any special eqipment like these so-called singers nowadays.
The song you posted is beautiful by the way. I am always on the lookout for new stuff to listen to. My other half likes a lot of jazz/jazz guitar and got me into that.
I wouldn;t dream of trying to get back into the music industry, it's not about songs anymore, it's about turnover and profit.
Listening to Simon and Garfunkel right now
Thanks for your comments though.
