UK news on TV

So there I am in my fluffy slippers, dressing gown and bowl of Alpen when I switch on the TV and no matter what channel I turn to for news... it's all about some land far-far-away. I want to know what is going on around me in England, not bloomin Bangkok, Moscow and the current flavour - The Middle East. There is this weird pre-occupation with anything Arab and when this is not on... guess what...? Bloomin Europe jumps up.

I want to know what is going on in London, can I get to work, will it pee down, what crimes are happening near me, what new laws have come in etc, not seeing a load of screaming arabs blow each other to pieces.
