A report in todays Sun says, diesel cars cause around 7000 deaths a year because of the dangerous particulates they pump into the atmosphere. I thought this had been known about for years.

that is a good thing, there are too many people. That makes diesels greener than most people think. Get the population down and it helps with "man made" global warming surely.

That's very true..however modern cars can help to shift much of this.
The biggest issue is with drivers only going on short, low speed runs....hence why car manufactures make special note of this, especially in the likes of the Channel Isles.
