the power of music
do any of you remember that first record and that first band that captured your heart and mind so completely that you could never get away from it??
im listening to mine right now and i can still remember every single minute of the scenario that led up to me listening to it.
several dozen hours of details, even the obscure details of a shop and what the door look like, conversations and faces i haven't seen in more than many years.
like it had just happened.
ever have that??

Re: the power of music
Great thread keith!!!
The first single ever bought for me because I absolutely loved it, was Don't Go Breaking My Heart (Elton John and Kiki Dee)
I used to play it over and over again. I had some kind of portable record player because I rememeber standing at the top of the stairs pretending I was on stage Hahahahaha
I loved Five Star when they came out (All Fall Down was one of my favourite songs ever!) and I loved Michael Jackson.
We all loved music in my house and and all loved competent diverse stuff; my brothers were heavily into reggae, my dad liked reggae and soul (Teddy Pendergrass and Anita Baker etc) and my mum was into Neil Diamnond, Elaine Paige, Elkie Broooks etc
So I was influenced by lots of different types of music.

Frankie Laine used to come into the pro shop at Muswell Hill golf club when I was the assistant pro in 1986. He drove a chocolate brown Rolls Royce and was a nice chap.
