First topic message reminder :

[*]Nivolumab is twice as effective as chemotherapy with far fewer side effects
[*]Experts say it can shrink cancer patient's tumours after just a few months
[*]But a watchdog has warned the drug will be too expensive for the NHS
[*]NICE will advise the treatment should not be made available in England and Wales

Our bastard so called government prefers spending your money on "Foreign Aid" (Help the terrorists aid)  than spending it on the NHS.

Where is Guy Fawkes when you need him??

They should be focusing on prevention.

Its because we dont study what causes illness why we dont know how to prevent them. If we did it could help eliminate the need for drugs simply by changing how we do things, certain lifestyles or changing the populations diet, work agenda. Both of which play a large part in why we are ill and die young in the first place.

As for other illnesses and diseases more complicated, well, if people are healthy and looking after themselves in general, eating the right beneficial food (not gmo crap) rather than overweight (caused by man made food) then youd be able to concentrate the entire time on this research alone and afford to help those with medical needs.  Not only that but the NHS would have more money at the end of this transaction (saving on treatment brought on by obesity: heart probs, diabetes etc, probs from our work patterns: stress, bad diets, ulcers, binge drinking, drugs, stress, stress, stress etc etc.

All this is bough on by how we live and what we eat. The gov should come up with a new plan. Thats how you research prevention and end up with money for life saving drugs that you have time to research.

Then if research really had no help, those who are suffering should have the option to step out of this world with dignity and pride if they so wish.

Telling people to change their lifestyle simply doesn't work. They're told over and over again that obesity can lead to all kinds of ailments, but they still overeat and then pretend they don't. They're told over and over again that exercise is good, but they still sit there watching TV all day. People are told over and over again - don't take drugs, but they still do it, and then complain when they get addicted. They're told that stress is a bad thing, but they still don't deal with it.

The pharma companies have no incentive to educate people about lifestyle changes - that's not their business and there's no profit in it. Their aim is to develop drugs which are needed for those conditions which are not necessarily caused by bad habits, or are caused by them but are needed for people who refuse to change their lifestyle.
