Not a word of explanation in the article on how the fridge fire inside the flat ignited the cladding on the outside of the building

That's what I'd like to know. It takes a while for the heat to build up enough to break a window and for flames to get out that way. Could it have gone into the wall cavity if there is one and broken out through there?
When we had a small fire in our office it was found quickly and the fire people took the window sill out and checked the cavity for flames or heat.

the windows must have been opened for the fire to get outside.fatbob5 wrote:[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I heard he had packed his bags and had them outside when he went knocking doors to warn his neighbours, then that he didn't have his stuff outside but did warn his neighbours
How did the fire appear to have been put out and the fire service 'mop up' so to speak and leave, only to be told by a second crew who remained outside, that the outside of the building was on fire now.

If it was just a small fire how did it ignite the cladding outside
If was larger , passed through a window and ignited the cladding, why didnt the fire fighters notice it

Because apparently there is a gap between the cladding and the building which acted like a chimney breast, so the fire was burning in the gap and climbing the outside of the tower.fatbob5 wrote:

So it was mainly due to a design flaw rather than just the material itselfsmelly-bandit wrote:

I bet whoever rubber stamped that still has a job

I'm not a fire chief so I can't say but that's what the initial reports said about how the fire spread so quickly, the chimney effect fanned the flames and let them climb.
I don't think it's a case of rubber stamping bob, have you ever hired workmen to do some work??? If they say XYZ is the best way to do the work, you're not going to argue with them otherwise you'd just do the job yourself.
The person who rubber stamped the job wasn't up on the scaffolding putting the cladding up was he??
Why the hell do you lefties always want heads to roll, why can't it ever just be a tragic accident with you lunatics, why does there always have to be some kind of malicious tory plot to murder the peasants behind everything??
