we were at the zoo the other day and were at the chimp enclosure and one of the chimps was eating peanuts .
he took each peanut and put it in his ass each time before eating it.
we watched him do that for some time and thought it very strange.
Eventually a keeper came along and I asked him why the monkey was exhibiting such strange behaviour.
the keeper said
"Last week someone gave him a peach and he ate it whole, and now he makes sure that what goes in will fit on the way out."
