A fraudster who billed himself as "da real don" - but in fact made his money from a phone scam targeting elderly people - has been jailed for three years.
Jahangir Khan boasted in rap lyrics about his lavish criminal lifestyle but failed to mention conning pensioners out of their savings.
The 23-year-old and three accomplices would pose as police officers and bank officials to con people across the Midlands, Hertfordshire, Wiltshire and Northamptonshire.
In early 2014 the group made in excess of 1,300 'phishing' calls to landline numbers.
They raided 84 people's bank accounts after persuading victims to hand over their details - the oldest victim was a 92-year-old woman.
West Midlands Police have now released a transcript of rap lyrics found on Khan's phone where he boasts of being the "real don" and "da underground's finest".
The lyrics also allude to Rolex watches, speeding around in high-powered cars, and his claimed popularity with the "honeys".

Detective Constable Dan Chappelow, said: "Khan clearly saw himself as a respected kingpin of the criminal world … in his mind he was 'da underground's finest' who drew respect from men and a magnet for adoring women.
"The truth is that Khan is a coward who spent his time phoning elderly people and tricking them into parting with bank cards and PIN numbers with scare stories that their accounts had been compromised.
"His crimes are a million miles away from the lifestyle depicted in his rap."
Detectives from the force's Economic Crime Unit arrested the 23-year-old from Perry Barr, Birmingham, and found photos of him showing off designer watches, jewellery and clothes − paid for with cash from victims' bank accounts.
CCTV showed Khan taking victims' money from a cash point and using a stolen card at a convenience store.

Khan's accomplice Mohammed Miah, 21, from London, was jailed for three years and two months.
Arafa Begum, from Nechells, Birmingham, was sentenced to eight months, suspended for 21 months, and ordered to do 150 hours of community service.
Motahir Rahman, 24, from London, was sentenced to 10 months, suspended for 21 months, and also ordered to do 150 hours of community service.

A sex pest who attacked teenage girls in their student halls has been caged for five years.
Zubair Pervez’ first victim, 18, had to fight him off after he barged into her room at the Manchester Metropolitan University accommodation in the early hours, pinned her to her bed and sexually assaulted her.
He then went down the corridor to the room of another 18-year-old, who woke up to find Pervez lying on top of her and laughing, her neck covered with lovebites.
Pervert Pervez, 21, denied two charges of sexual assault in a Manchester Crown Court trial in which the first victim broke down as she described her ordeal.
He denied the offences, with his defence seeking to paint his victims as drunk and unreliable.
However, he was convicted by the jury and jailed on the spot by Recorder Tony Cross QC.
Pervez, a married dad-of-one, was visiting a pal at MMU in November 2014 when he began pestering the girls in a nightclub. He then went with his friend to the girl’s halls where he attacked them both.
Describing what happened when he came into her room, the first victim told court: “I was shouting at him to leave and he wouldn’t... he was trying to kiss me and stuff.
“He put his hand on my shoulder and pushed me back so I was lay on my bed. I’m panicking and screaming...I was kicking him and trying to push him off. (Now) I lock myself in my room...if I turn the light out I can see him there.”
Pervez stormed out of the young woman’s room after she refused his advances, before punching her door in anger and threatening to punch her.
Later that morning she she was called by her friend, who she was to learn had also been attacked by him. She said: “(The other complainant) was crying her eyes out - she said to me she woke up and there’s a guy next to her, she explained what the guy looks like and it’s the same guy that came into my room.”
The second victim described waking up to find him in her bed in graphic terms.
“I was lying down and I woke up and he was just over the top of me. I just remember him being above me - his face was like...there”, she said, demonstrating the distance between his face and her own . She went on: “I was just confused, I said something to him...I just remember him laughing.”

A money launderer who provided ‘financial services’ to the underworld has been jailed after being linked to £1.5m of cash from crime.
For two-and-a-half months, Munaf Suleman played a hands-on, junior role in a multinational, multi-million pound gangland banking conspiracy, receiving money from bagmen before counting it and paying it into banks and post offices in Cheetham Hill.
Suleman has now been jailed for four years after admitting becoming concerned in a money laundering arrangement.
Suleman, 32, of Chorley New Road, Bolton, was paid just £200 a week for the job, which was low down in the pecking order of the conspiracy but vital for its success.
Once money had been paid into banks it would be wired to offshore accounts in Hong Kong, at the direction of a Pakistan-based controller known only as ‘Khan’.
Key players in the operation - who were jailed earlier this year - used the free smartphone messaging service ‘Whatsapp’ to coordinate operations.
money transfer scheme allowed drug dealers and fraudsters from across the UK to ‘clean’ their money, and buy luxury items without attracting the suspicion that cash would.
It funded the lifestyles of senior players in the plot, who lived on leafy streets in Hale and Chorlton . But it was brought down by a police surveillance operation.
Suleman was linked to £1.5m of the £10m which passed through the operation - which was headquartered at business premises in Cheetham Hill.
He worked under the direction of coordinator Razwan Munir, 40, who enjoyed a jetset lifestyle from the illegal enterprise.
Suleman got involved in the operation within weeks of getting out of jail for drug dealing.
But his barrister, Philip Parry, said he hadn’t known the full scale of the operation, was ‘turning a blind eye’ to where the money he was banking was coming from, and had worked under the direction of ‘plainly more sophisticated criminals’.
“He’s 32 and spent most of his adult life in prison or on licence”, Mr Parry said. “He leads quite a sad, lonely existence, living with his mother. He wasn’t up there with those manipulating the banking system, transferring money around.”
Sentencing, Judge Patrick Field QC told Suleman: “What you did, for a number of months in 2014, not long after your release from prison, was work as a receiver of cash that was brought by couriers to the money laundering operation.
"You counted it then paid it into accounts, through banks or the local Post Office. What you were involved in was providing valuable financial services for organised criminals.”

A man stabbed and slashed his partner 17 times and then locked her in the house with their three young children.
When police broke down the door to the 26-year-old victim’s home at Teignmouth Avenue, Collyhurst , they found the woman naked and bleeding heavily on the stairs, with her two eldest children, aged three and four, by her side.
Upstairs, in the bedroom that was the scene of the attack, they found a one-year-old baby. He had been in the cot by the bed as his mother was attacked and his face was splashed with her blood.
The three children were left alone with their badly-injured mother by their own father, Antonio Neto.

The court heard the horrific incident came after Neto, who lived at another address, let himself in with a key. The victim invited Neto to have dinner with the family and help decorate the Christmas tree.
He turned violent later that night after she refused him sex. He went downstairs, got a knife, and told the woman: “Move the baby because I’m going to do something bad.”

A serial sex attacker has been jailed for eight years after assaulting a string of women over a 10-day spree in South London just months after he arrived in the UK.
Algerian Mehdi Midani, 28, followed eight 'vulnerable' women as they walked home at night.
The former mechanic conducted a campaign of 'terror' across the Brixton Hill and Clapham areas of the capital, even attacking four women in the space of just four hours.
He was handed a sentence of 10 years with eight to be served in jail, two on licence following his release.
Passing sentence Judge Nicholas Madge said: 'You moved from one offence in an evening to two in an evening to four in an evening.
'You waited, watched and followed women.'
Judge Madge said one victim turned to see Midani 'grinning' at her while another caught him 'ducking behind a car' as he followed her.
'All these offences were committed against lone women during a 10-day period.
'On each day that you assaulted women you travelled from North London to Brixton or Clapham and then returned to North London after carrying out the assault.'
He added: 'The experience of this court is that sexual attacks on women by strangers in the street are rare. In that sense, London is a relatively safe city.

A 45-year-old man laughed as he sexually assaulted a woman at a Tube station, a court heard.
Choudry Shakeel, from Barnet, grabbed his victim between the legs as she stepped from a Central line train onto the platform at Holborn station.
When the woman confronted Shakeel after the assault on December 13 2014 he laughed, Blackfriars Crown Court was told.
The quick-thinking victim then took photographs of her attacker, which led to his arrest.

Mohammed Ali, from Tulse Hill, approached the 15-year-old on a Northern line tube between Old Street and Bank in November last year.
He then followed the teenager onto a DLR service going towards Limehouse.
The 34-year-old offered his victim drugs and money to perform a sex act on him, Blackfriars Crown Court heard.
The boy fled and informed the police.
Ali was sentenced to four years behind bars at the same court last week after pleading guilty to inciting a child to commit a sexual act at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in June.

A gang which flooded parts of Greater Manchester with heroin, cocaine and other drugs have been jailed for a total of 68 years.
The six-strong group from Bolton also dealt in large amounts cannabis and amphetamine before they were snared by police.
Its leaders Dhiren Lad, 34, and Mohammed Taymure Khan, 33, have now been sentenced to 12 years and 13 years 8 months behind bars respectively.
Between September 2014 and August 2015 Waqar Ahmed, used his job as a taxi driver as a cover for him to deliver drugs all over the country.
They were delivered to suppliers for sale on the streets of towns across the North West.
Mark Samuels was also involved in the storing and transporting of the drugs whilst Naheem Aslam and Ricky Parmar, both 34, also had leading roles in the organisation of the deals.
In September 2015, all six were arrested after a series of raids by Lancashire Police.
And they were charged a complex investigation which involved hundreds of pages of evidence, including calls and text messages, gathered by officers being analysed by CPS prosecutors.
All six men pleaded to one count of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and one count of conspiracy to supply class B drugs except Ahmed, who was convicted of both offences after a trial.
Lad, of Stanley Road, Radcliffe, was sentenced to 12 years behind bars.
Khan, 33, of Hilden Street, Bolton, Aslam, 34, of Crescent Road, Great Lever and Parmar, of Rowton Street, Hall I’ Th’ Wood were all jailed for 13 years and eight months.
Ahmed, of no fixed abode, was jailed for nine years.
Samuels, 42, of of Prestwood Close, Bolton. was sentenced to six years.
Ben Southam, Deputy Head of the CPS North West Complex Casework Unit, said: “This was an extremely complex case because of the sort of evidence that we were looking at.
“There was a huge amount of material to consider, including the analysis of hundreds of calls and texts between the members of the gang as they carried out drugs operations.
“Together with police and prosecuting counsel we built a strong and compelling case that each of these defendants had played a part in the plans to supply drugs in towns and cities in the North West and elsewhere in the country.

The frightening thing is that so many radicalised Muslims genuinely believe that they enjoy absolute entitlement not only to follow their own frequently perverted beliefs and practices but also to impose them on others - and by violence if necessary.

The trio burst into Lloyds in Commercial Road, Tower Hamlets, brandishing a claw hammer and knives, the Old Bailey heard.
They demanded cash and slashed one male staff member in the face, during the attack in March.
One of the attackers held a knife to a female cashier’s throat and forced her to the floor.
She was also stabbed in the face, the court was told.
The men failed to get their hands on any cash and fled with a fistful of Lloyds Bank correspondence.
Tariq Ahmed, 21, Mohammed Khan, 19, and Junaid Hassan, 24, all from Tower Hamlets pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob at the same court in April.
Amhed, of Vesey Path, and Hussan, of Saracen Street, were both jailed for nine years on Friday.

Apeldelrazek Badran, 33, posed as a policeman to attack three young girls just six months after being released from prison following a nine-year sentence for raping a nine-year-old girl
A convicted child rapist posed as a policeman to attack three girls in one hour - just six months after his release from prison.
Apeldelrazek Badran, 33, had served nine years for raping a nine year old girl he lured to a secluded spot.
And during his latest spate of attacks he lured a 12-year-old girl down an alleyway before sexually assaulting her and taking pictures of her semi-nude on his phone.
He also breached an order not to approach children just six days after it expired, again posing as a cop to approach four girls in a park.
Badran, approached two schoolgirls near his home in Enfield, north London, while on his bike on January 27th this year - six months after being released from jail - and told them he was a police officer but they managed to run away.
In the second incident, an hour later at around 5.30pm, he told a 12-year-old she was suspected of shoplifting before forcing her down an alleyway, threatening her with what she thought was a knife.
She had been to the shops to buy ingredients for a cake that she was planning to bake for school the next day.
Badran said he would 'cut her' before sexually assaulting her as her phone rang with panicked calls from her mother.
He then took photos of the girl's half naked body on his phone before she managed to run away, dropping her mother's bank card.
The terrified girl 'was crying and shaking, saying, 'It's not my fault' and 'I tried to escape' when she was eventaully found by her frantic mother.
An hour earlier Badran had physically attacked an 11-year-old with alleged intent to sexually assaulting her, but she managed to break free and run home.
Badran was identified by police, and officers went to his home address about a mile-and-a-half away from where the two attacks took place.
He was arrested and police found the girl's mother's bank card.
Officers also discovered a photo of his victim with her name written on it and details of the attack in the deleted pictures folder of his phone.
Badran was jailed for nine years with an extended licence of five years having admitted raping a nine-year-old girl in 2003.
He approached the girl as she fished on the bank of a canal on Hackney Marshes in east London, and lured her to a secluded area where he claimed she could land a bigger catch before raping her.
He was released on conditional licence in July 2009, but was recalled to prison in September 2011, to serve the rest of his sentence.
Badran was finally released in July 2015, just six months before he struck again.
He was also accused of impersonating an officer to sexually touch four girls in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, on November 11, last year.
He was cleared of the sexual touching but convicted of breaching the sexual harm prevention order not to have any contact with children under 16 which was imposed just six days earlier.
He was also cleared on the judge's direction of assaulting an 11 year old boy on the day the order was granted and attempting to grab a girl on October 19.
Anthony Orchard QC, prosecuting, said: 'This case is about a series of offences of an increasing sexual nature, beginning in October 2015 and ending with this defendant's arrest on 28th January 2016.
'The offences were all committed on schoolchildren aged between 10 and 12 years old at the end of the Secondary School day.
'Over time the offences escalated in scale and seriousness. It appears the longer the defendant remained at large, the bolder he became.
'He was finally caught because of what took place on 27th January 2016.'
The jury convicted him of one count of ABH, battery with intent to commit a sexual offence, sexual assault by digital penetration, sexual touching and bank card theft.
The jury also found him guilty of a further two breaches of his SHPO.
Judge Rosamund Horwood-Smart QC ordered them to find him not guilty on the further three counts.
Following his guilty plea for rape in 2003 Detective Constable Shaun Egan described the attack as 'horrendous' and said the girl was still traumatised.
'She is wary of men, doesn't leave her house much and keeps crying,' he said.
'I have no doubt that Badran went out that day looking for a victim to rape.
'He led the girl to a very secluded area and I believe he had already chosen that spot and pre-planned how he would entice her there.'
Badran was remanded in custody until his sentencing hearing next month.

A failed asylum seeker and convicted sex offender tried to kidnap a 10-year-old girl from a Tesco store and threatened to 'kill every British person he saw'.
Amine Husseine, from Somalia, attempted the abduction of the terrified girl as she looked at shoes in the supermarket in Eastgate, Bristol.
He told her to put the shoes back and go with him and when she told him she was not allowed to go with strangers he snarled 'just come' and the girl screamed.
The 35-year-old tried to grab her but she was rescued by her mother and sister and he fled.
While he left the premises, he told security staff: 'When I get back to Somalia I will kill every British person I see and come back and abduct another child.'
Bristol Crown Court heard that Husseine arrived in the UK in 2009 and has committed 20 offences since then, including three other sexual assaults.

Zabed Shah
A paedophile has been locked up after luring a young girl to a hotel, plying her with booze and drugs and sexually assaulting her.
Zabed Shah, from Oldham , was arrested after being found at the same Manchester hotel with two other teenagers who had been reported missing from home.
A court heard how the 27-year-old had taken the victim, aged 14, and a friend who was 13, to the hotel with another older man in December, last year.
Both were given alcohol before Shah sexually assaulted one of the girls. She reported the incident to police who launched an investigation. A week later, a 15-year-old and 16-year-old girl were reported missing to Greater Manchester Police .
Officers from the force’s Project Phoenix, which works with agencies to safeguard vulnerable young people, received information that Shah was back at the same Manchester hotel where he had taken his young victims previously.
When they arrived they discovered Shah and another man Abdul Latif, 30, in a room with the two missing girls who were both under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Shah, of Hancock Close, Oldham, pleaded guilty to sexual assault on a child, attempting to pay for the sexual services of a child and supplying Class A drugs. He was sentenced on Thursday at Minshull Street Crown Court to three years in prison.
He will have to sign the sex offenders register for ten years.
Latif, of Oundle Close, Oldham, was also jailed for 27 months after admitting supplying Class A drugs.
Abdul Latif
PC Andy Barratt, from Oldham’s Phoenix team, said: “Shah preyed on vulnerable young girls fuelling them with drink and drugs before trying to sexually exploit them whilst Latif encouraged his behaviour and stood by and watched.
“Both men deserve the sentences they were handed today and I hope the people of Oldham now feel safer knowing these despicable men are off the streets.
“GMP will not tolerate any form of child sexual exploitation and abuse, and we, along with our partners, will always offer our support to victims and investigate all reports fully.
“I would like to praise the victims for their bravery in reporting this to police and helping officers to put these men behind bars.”

An accountant has been locked up after creating fake tax returns and expense accounts to steal more than £285,000.
Amjad Ali, 65, used his client’s details to create fraudulent online Self Assessment Income Tax returns at his Longsight -based business.
He invented employee travel and subsistence expenses in the majority of cases and even included fictitious pension details and fake self-employment work.
Ali, from Levenshulme , claimed more than £285,000 in fraudulent Income Tax refunds through the fictitious tax accounts over five years.
But he was caught out by HM Revenue and Customs officers and hauled before the courts following an investigation into his accounts.
He has now been jailed for three years and seven months after admitting to stealing £285,344.91 in false Income Tax repayments in respect of 42 clients.

Jamiv Usman, 32, has been jailed for 20 years
A teenager who was brutally knifed by her boyfriend more than 100 times - in front of her two-year-old son - only survived by playing dead.
Lewes Crown Court heard Jamiv Usman launched the terrifying attack because the 19-year-old woman refused to get him a glass of water.
At one point he stabbed her in the neck with such force the tip of the knife snapped off.
But despite being repeatedly slashed with the eight-inch blade in the neck and chest, she managed to survive by pretending to be dead and crawling into an empty bus.
The woman, now 21, suffered two punctured lungs and had 500 stitches to treat her wounds.
Unemployed Usman, of Brighton, denied attempted murder but was found guilty following a trial at Lewes Crown Court on July 20 and jailed for 20 years on Friday

Three men have been locked up for more than 30 years for gang raping a schoolgirl at a house party.
Lukas Koky, 23, Daniel Thomas, 23, and Mohammed Mustafa, 19, ‘took it in turns’ to attack the teenager at a house in Quinney Crescent, Moss Side .
Manchester Crown Court heard she fell prey to the attackers in the early hours of November 21 last year.
She was out with a friend in Manchester city centre when she met a large group of men who invited them back to the party.
There, the girls were plied with drink and drugs.
The victim later told police that ‘her head was spinning and she could not stand’ at the point she found herself in the bathroom with five men.
She was subjected to a ‘humiliating and degrading’ attack by each of them, prosecutor Shirlie Duckworth told court.
After the attack ended the distressed girl rang 999.
The girl’s prints were recovered from the bathroom, and Koky, of Rolls Crescent, Hulme, Thomas, of Beresford Street, Moss Side and Mustafa, of Thorncombe Road, Moss Side, were caught by DNA evidence.
Two of the attackers remain at large, but the three traced pleaded guilty to rape on the day of trial.
Now Koky has been jailed for 12 years and three months, while Mustafa was given 10 years and nine months youth detention.
Daniel Thomas was also involved in a brawl in the early hours of January 9 after Mustafa’s pals accused him of ‘snitching’ - even though he had given a ‘no comment’ interview.
Thomas admitted rape, affray, and possessing a bladed article, and was jailed for 11 years.
Sentencing, Judge David Stockdale QC told them: “(The victim) was screaming in protest throughout the ordeal, but her protests were ignored. When her ordeal was over she was left alone in the bathroom, shaking and crying.
“This was a brutal and cynical series of rapes committed, by you, on a vulnerable young girl when she was incapable of offering any meaningful resistance.”
Each of the offenders is subject to the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Detective Constable James Coles of GMP’s City of Manchester Team, said: “The girl has been put through a disgusting and harrowing ordeal with detrimental effects on her wellbeing.
“Today’s outcome will provide little comfort to her but I hope she will find some closure. Thanks to her courage and bravery, these men have been jailed for their horrendous crimes. They are safely behind bars and are no longer able to prey on young girls.”
